Hey Moms!
I have a serious question for you.
Are you having fun?
I know eggs are like ten dollars, and you might be feeling frazzled because the holidays are upon us, but are you having any fun?
Are you laughing? Smiling? Chuckling here and there?
Most days, I am having lots of fun. I have always been a bit goofy, but I believe that having three kids around definitely amplifies that facet of my personality. I enjoy playing with their toys, and taking time to dance when I can tell they need movement in order to get some of their after school energy out.
In moments where it is tougher to find joy, I lean on what I have learned through personal development. I now understand that I have the ability to change my mind when I need to. Joe Dispensa’s Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself has been transformative for me in this regard.
Additionally, reverting back to the weird kid I used to be makes me so happy! I go to the library at least once a week. If I am not at the library, I am at Barnes and Noble. Either way, I keep myself surrounded by books. I have found that if I am not reading something, I don’t feel stimulated. As I type this, I am waiting for the library to open up so I can go pick up books I have on hold, and watch my daughter play. Thinking about Atalanta, by Jennifer Saint makes me want to burst! I am a huge Greek mythology nerd.
I have also been drawing again! This is such a great way for me to decompress. I am currently creating a comic about a girl who lives in the Florida Everglades. It is a nod to my upbringing. My love for doodles shows up on the packages I ship my journals in. Reach out to me if you would like to order one:)
So Moms, are you having fun? If so, what is your favorite thing to do(with and without your kiddos)?
